You can learn a lot about people from what they hang on their walls, intentionally and unintentionally. I love visiting a friend's home for the first time and seeing what hangs on their walls, even the post-it notes and pictures attached to their fridge. I jokingly (and sometimes from a place of frustration!) describe our middle school hallway as reminiscent of an adolescent's bedroom; they cannot stop hanging things up for announcements, writing on the dry-erase boards, and decorating. I love walking that hallway and all of our hallways because these walls tell me a lot about who our teachers and students are, and it makes me proud to be part of their community.
If you have not had the chance to visit recently, or you've had to rush in or out, I invite you to look at the pictures of our walls in this slideshow. I snapped all these photos this morning on my daily walk around the school.
By way of reminder, you are all welcome to join me on a gallery walk around our school anytime. I never know what you'll see, but I am confident it will make you also feel blessed to be part of this community.
